Working with human trafficking in Sweden & Italy – Coming together for transnational collaboration
On June 26, 2020, the INSigHT Research Team organised the virtual workshop “Working with human trafficking in Sweden & Italy – Coming together for transnational collaboration”, as part of a series of workshops bringing together Italian and Swedish anti-trafficking stakeholders.
The workshop series came about in response to stakeholders’ wish to know more about the anti-trafficking systems of other countries.
Following up from the previous workshop carried out in May, in this second workshop we focused on relevant residence permits available to trafficking victims in Italy and Sweden.
We also discussed on the critical issues relating to “cases” of Nigerian beneficiaries they have encountered in their work and who have experienced movements between the two countries.
As the workshop title suggests, the idea is not only to learn from each other’s practical experiences, but, ultimately, to guarantee the safety and support to people victims of trafficking, by strengthening the collaboration between stakeholders working in different countries.
