INSigHT partners invited to speak at the meeting of the Swedish National Task Force against Prostitution and Human Trafficking (NMT)
On September 24 2020, the partners of the INSigHT Action are invited to join the September meeting of the Swedish National Task Force against Prostitution and Human Trafficking (NMT) that is specifically focusing on trafficking from Nigeria.
This focus is partly the result of ongoing contacts and networking activities in which the INSigHT Research Team, and in particular Isabelle Johansson, have been engaging. The NMT is a Task Force lead by the Swedish Gender Equality Agency, the Antitrafficking Coordinating Body in Sweden, and comprises various government agencies that work against human trafficking in the country. Its purpose is to function as as a strategic and operative resource, as well as to develop coordination and collaboration in the work against human trafficking.
During the meeting, the INSigHT Research Team will short report on the outcomes of its research activities and, together with the Italian and Nigerian partners, will addres the importance of multi-agency interventions when working with victims of trafficking. Besides the meeting has been organised to consolidate the ongoing network building with the Swedish Gender Equality Agency and the Regional Antitrafficking Coordinators as well as to build new networks with other antitrafficking actors in Sweden, particularly as far as secondary and “Dublin” mouvements are concerned.
