The direct involvement of relevant institutions and stakeholders in the research process is a key feature of the IN-SIGHT project. Throughout implementation a close cooperation with practitioners from relevant institutions and stakeholders will be ensured. The organisation of national and international level workshops will facilitate an effective interaction between research and practice.
First step (WP1)
The project will start with a review of the relevant conceptual frameworks concerning innovation in agriculture and rural development.
Second step (WP2)
The project will be an analysis of the innovation systems and processes in the seven participating countries. Trends, drivers and barriers will be analysed and compared, as well as successful examples identified.
Third step (WP3, WP4 & WP5)
The project will undertake three in-depth reviews where the participation of key actors in innovation systems will play a central role. The three in-depth reviews will concentrate on :
-
Innovations in agriculture with a particular focus on products and marketing.
-
Innovations in the field of environmental technologies with a focus on bio-energy and more efficient water saving systems.
-
Innovations in the provision of rural services with a particular focus on the role of information and communication technologies in innovation processes.
Last step (WP6)
The objective is to synthesize the overall findings of the study doing a cross-national analysis for particular fields of innovation (WPs 3-5) connecting that with the results of WP1 and WP2 and formulating, on this basis, policy and practice recommendations.
